The De\u0301ri Museum in Debrecen opened to the public in 1930. One of the most significant provincial museums in Hungary became remarkable with its rich local historical materials and the universal cultural historical collection
\nof Frigyes De\u0301ri. The building of the museum – with the statues of Ferenc Medgyessy in front of it – is a jewel in the downtown of Debrecen. The member institutions of the De\u0301ri Museum are the Ferenc Medgyessy<\/p>\n

Memorial Exhibition, the House of Literature in Debrecen, as well as the Military Cemetery with the Mausoleum.<\/p>\n

Munk\u00e1csy Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I wanted to depict God in human form.” – Mih\u00e1ly Munk\u00e1csy confessed about his works. The painter’s trilogy, which represents Christ’s suffering, can be seen in perhaps the museum’s most popular exhibition space, the Munk\u00e1csy Hall. The three monumental paintings<\/p>\n

(Christ before Pilate, Ecce Homo, Golgotha) were first shown to the public
\non 25th August 1995 at the D\u00e9ri Museum, nor the trilogy could be seen as
\na whole earlier by the painter himself.<\/p>\n
