The Historical Memorial Park of Mohács was set up in 1976 in memory of the Battle of Mohács on the 450 anniversary of the battle. It is located in the Historical Park of Mohács south from the town next to Sátorhely.
It is unusual to establish a memorial park on the place of a lost battle but this was a tragedy of lasting memory. The fight against the Turkish only lasted for half an hour but had started a 150 years of suffering and excluded Hungary from the European development.
